Used Shop and Concept

Used shop and concept. Walmart opened a Supermercado de Walmart location to attract Hispanic communities in the United States. The first, a 39,000-square-foot (3,600-square-meter) store in the Spring Branch of Houston area, opened on April 29, 2009. The store is a conversion from the existing Walmart Neighborhood Market. In 2009, the Supermercado de Walmart was opened in Phoenix, Arizona. Both locations were closed in 2014. In 2009, Walmart opened "Mas Club", a warehouse retail operation that mimics Sam's Club. The only shop was closed in 2014.

Walmart Express is a smaller series of discount stores with a variety of services ranging from food ingredients to cash and gasoline payment services. This concept is focused on small cities that are considered unable to support larger stores, and large cities where space is at a premium. Walmart plans to build 15 to 20 Walmart Express stores, focusing on Arkansas, North Carolina, and Chicago, at the end of the fiscal year in January 2012. In September 2014, Walmart changed the brands of all format Express stores to Neighborhood Markets in an effort to streamline its retail offerings. It continues to open a new Express store under the name Pasar Lingkungan. On October 31, 2018, there were 100 small format stores in the United States. This includes Amigo (12 locations), Acquisition / C-store E-Commerce (68 locations), and other store formats (20 locations). On January 15, 2016, Walmart announced that it would close 269 stores worldwide, including all 102 Walmart Express stores in the US, including those branded as Neighborhood Markets.
